Reminiscing my childhood days

I remember those days
foolishly believing petar pan
and the far away neverland
dancing happily during the winter
waiting for the gifts from Santa
playing with friends in the playground
and chasing all the butterflies
I ran, ran and ran

(Ever played like this!? #life without technology)

real happiness came
from those colorful candies
and not from othersΒ
innocently admiring the aesthetic moon
which followed me everywhere
watching cartoons on television
without the thoughts of anyone’s opinion

tears wiped by my mother’s hand
are now dried by the lonely pillow
when my eyes were filled with dreams
and not broken hopes
mythical tales of princess and prince
still remains the only place of happily ever after
talking with my brown eyed teddy
didn’t sound so crazy
hoping to achieve my dreams and yes,
future didn’t really scare me
I laughed
I cried
Beyond that
I enjoyed my life

Now looking back at it, I’m figuring
what changed me
Is it the day when i doubted heaven or
Is it the day when I believed in hell!?
now if I give you your favorite candy
will you come back to me,
at least for bidding farewell!?

I wrote this in my notepad long back and thought of posting it. Whenever I feel sad, I think of my childhood days and memories and it magically brightens my mood up.

Do you miss your childhood, what’s your favorite memory, do you still act like a child, what will you tell if you meet your old innocent self back!? Tell me in the comments below. I will always love to hear from you.

  1. You reminded me of those beautiful days when I would foolishly try to climb walls that today, I know I can’t.(Please don’t judge me. I was a child.πŸ˜„)
It’s so fascinating that we think of those days as days when we were doing foolish things but would still like to relive them if we can.
Keep up the good work, Pavithra! ❀️

  2. That was really adorable Pavithra ❀️ yes I miss my childhood, if I say this thing in front of my family members, they would laugh for sure as I’m the youngest in the whole family and I’m still a kid for them (and it’s true). But when I think about my day it sometimes fill my eyes remembering the old days.
Btw, the last two lines were absolutely lovely ❀️

  3. wow it was just awesome πŸ˜‰ I too miss those days in which we have no worries and no problems just the way we are, that we don’t need to live for others and live in our own way. Those are the golden days of my life.

    1. Thanks a lot!! I too agree with you!
It was the only time when we didn’t worry about the future nor regretted the past. We just enjoyed current moment to the fullest!!

  4. That was so good!πŸ’• I found it kind of funny that you put #life without technology under the picture because I still build blanket forts with my brother πŸ˜‚…though I guess I’m still technically a child, but it doesn’t feel like I am. A memory that came to mind while reading was when my friends and I used to sword fight with these long grass pieces…now no one wants to play pretend.

Oh is it!? πŸ˜‚ I thought that game extinced after technology 😢 because today all I see is small kids even at age 10 playing pubg, clash of clans and spending most of the time with PS!! πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

  5. Woah thats gorgeous! Isn’t it weird how things that we remember as sad when we were kids we can now look back on and laugh at? I wonder when that changed, when did those moments stop being sad and start being funny? Loved the post πŸ’™

  7. Yes I remember. πŸ™‚
I remember my first class presentation which ended up as a stand-up comedy and nothing. And also I was considered as a ‘water bottle’ boy.
Thankyou so much for reminding me this.
